In the words of Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, the future of any country is shaped in the school classrooms and so it is school education that should also be focussed the most. Dr. Mujumdar strongly believes that we shall be doing a great service to the nation, if we can provide quality education to students in a manner that they not only excel in academics but also benefit socially and morally.

In 2015, Symbiosis Society created Symbiosis Schools Central Directorate (SSCD) to ensure equity, excellence, and to maintain adherence to key policy issues across all Symbiosis Schools. SSCD is an overarching body established with an objective to create a roadmap that will enhance the quality of all the Symbiosis schools by taking care of the consistency of good practices across all Symbiosis schools. SSCD has been entrusted to make Symbiosis the most sought after schools and is both an academic and administrative body aimed at

SSCD has been entrusted with many responsibilities, some of which are:
  • Develop and implement policies.
  • Research the new trends / best practices / innovations worldwide and bring them in practice to Symbiosis schools.
  • Plan and implement Professional Development Programmes for school staff.
  • Increase communication and coordination between its different schools and the different stakeholders.
  • Provide a platform for the school staff, students and parents to voice their concerns.
  • Facilitate technology enabled classrooms.
  • Oversee the human resources and staffing in the Symbiosis schools.
